
From Design to Vegan Chef
As a small woman-owned business based in Harlem, our mission is twofold: Create fantastic chocolate that is allergen-friendly (Dairy, Gluten, Nut, Soy, and Preservative-Free), and to support our local community and empower the next generation. We train and motivate students and share about entrepreneurship and sustainability. Creating Sweet Vegan Chocolate has been a journey of persistence and self-discovery.
My experience as an interior architect provided me the foundation to rediscover my passion for food: creating unique and distinctive Sweet Vegan packaging and flavors.

Healing with food and love..
My introduction to the vegan lifestyle came after my mother took a tumble while visiting me in NYC, and became my long-term houseguest. To aid in her healing, I found a chef who taught us vegan cuisine -my mother, became the official "taste tester" and I assisted as the sous-chef. Together, we discovered how a plant based diet can heal and give you renewed energy. In just three short months, my mom went from being in a wheelchair to out and pushing her wheelchair. The recipe for this success was a tasty organic plant-based diet, and the secret ingredient is love. This inspired me to enroll in Christine Waltermyer’s cooking school The Natural Kitchen Cooking School.
In 2008, my proud mother returned to NYC to celebrate my graduation.

While all our treats are vegan, nut-free, gluten-free, and dairy-free, they’re crafted to be irresistibly delicious for everyone, not just those with allergies.
